Common questions

Quick answers before you get in touch

What is a hosted telephone system?
It is a business telephone system delivered from the cloud rather than relying on a traditional on-site PBX. Your users can access business calling features from compatible desk phones and applications.
Can we keep our existing telephone numbers?
In many cases existing business numbers can be transferred to a hosted service. We can check your current numbers and explain the migration process before any changes are made.
Can staff work from home or on mobile?
Yes. The Hosted Voice platform is designed for flexible working and can support users across office, home and mobile environments.
What’s the difference between FTTP, SoGEA and FTTC?
FTTP brings fibre directly to your premises. SoGEA provides broadband without a traditional analogue phone service. FTTC uses fibre to the street cabinet and copper for the final connection.
When should a business consider a leased line?
An Ethernet leased line is worth considering where dedicated bandwidth, symmetrical performance, stronger service levels or greater resilience are important to your operation.
What happens to the phone network in January 2027?
The UK’s traditional PSTN is scheduled to be retired on 31 January 2027. Businesses using analogue lines and legacy services should review what they have and plan a suitable digital alternative.
Could the switch-off affect alarms or other devices?
Potentially. Equipment such as alarm lines, lift phones, door entry, payment terminals and fax machines can rely on traditional telephone lines, so these should be checked as part of your migration plan.
